Pachisi is a complex 'cross-and-circle' race board game. It might be as old as from the 4th century A.D. and was regarded as The National Game of India. The game is also known as 'Twenty-five'.

Two well-known descendants of Pachisi is Ludo (England) and Parcheesi (USA)

Ludo (and it's variations) is also known as Mensch Ärgere dich nicht (Germany), Mens-erger-je-niet (the Netherlands), Parchís or Parkase (Spain), Le Jeu de Dada or Petits Chevaux (France), Non t'arrabbiare (Italy), Fia med knuff (Sweden), Parqués (Colombia), Griniaris (Greece). Some Arabic Pachisi variants are : Barjis / Bargis (Palestine), Barjis(s) / Bargese (Syria) and Pachîs (Persia/Iran). Known in Vietnam as da' ngu'a ('kick horse') and in China as 'Fei Xing Qi' ('flying chess' or'aeroplane chess')
