Parchís:
Parchís is the
Spanish adaptation of the Indian game Pachisi. It is very similar to
Ludo and should perhaps be classified as a variant of Ludo.
Rules
This
game is played with 1 die and 4 pawns per player. 5 is useful to leave
the jail and the 6 serves to gain an extra turn.
Blockades can also be made with 2 pawns, but only in safe squares (in
some variants a blockade can be made anywhere). Aside from blocking
other pawns, if there is a blockade in the home square, the player in
the nest will not be able to leave while the blockade exists. The
blockades are destroyed when a 6 is tossed or when some of the pawns
which composes the blockade is moved.
When the player has 4 pawns in the game (outside the nest), whenever he
gets a 6, he can move 7 squares.
If ever three 6 are rolled in a row, the last piece moved is killed and
returned to the jail. If the last piece moved was in the final coloured
ramp, it is only moved to the bottom of it.
When eating a pawn, 20 points are gained in order to be moved by a pawn.
When entering a pawn in its central zone, 10 points are gained in order
to move a pawn.
